Dear Friends and Family,
We have so much we’re grateful for in this season! We will always look back on 2018 as the year of weddings, and we cannot imagine better partners in life for our children than Leslie and Avery are for Mark and for Becca. Mark and Leslie now live in Hong Kong, working as entrepreneurs in finance, and Becca and Avery live in Washington, DC, working for non-profits focused on homelessness and environmental advocacy. But that is not all that happened this year! Rich saw his work in nutrition education grow this year, which was truly satisfying. He loved getting to go to Nepal to invest in students at the Nepal Bible College in Kathmandu, and connecting with the IFES student movement there; he will return to teach two student conferences in Nepal in March. Lisa continues to be happy to be teaching at Fuller Seminary. It’s a time of transition for the school, but it remains a rich environment where gifted students are eager to sharpen their skills for ministry. She also loved a prayer retreat in Grand Rapids and a reunion with treasured old friends in Boston. In March, we mourned the death of Rich’s father, and celebrated his faithful, good life as a scientist and a disciple of Jesus. Lisa’s mom, Nancy Washington, is doing well and we enjoy seeing her regularly. We wish you joy and peace in this holiday season. With love, Rich and Lisa, with Mark and Leslie, Becca and Avery
